Job Title: Sr. Desktop Support Technician

Reports to: Director, IT Service Delivery

Next Level Supervisor: VP, Technology Services

Division: Corporate

Location: NYC

Duration: 3 Month contract to hire

Job Summary:

Candidates for a Desktop Support Technician position should have extensive experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity. They must be customer service-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing the efficient use of computing resources. A bachelor’s or technical degree in a computer-related field or equivalent years of experience installing and supporting PC and laptop hardware and software are standard requirements.

Qualified Candidates should have:

  • Deep knowledge of desktop operating systems through Windows 10 & 11
  • A+, MCDST, or equivalent
  • A deep understanding of Windows hardware. Proficient in performing break/fix, installations, and upgrades.
  • An Intermediate understanding of Mac hardware. Adequate in performing break/fix, installations, and upgrades.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications. Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting software for the above platforms.
  • Experienced in Azure Active Directory: Account setup, password resets, unlocking accounts, and navigation.
  • Experience in identifying, removing, and protecting against viruses, spyware, and malware.
  • Working knowledge of desktop networking, both wired and wireless.
  • Extremely customer-oriented with excellent written and communication skills
  • An ability to build an excellent and friendly relationship with all employees.
  • An ability to follow up on assignments from senior team members and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excel at making the workload and request/service process visible and accountable for work assignments.
  • A willingness to learn new systems and skills.
  • 5-6 years of experience

Certification Preferences:

  • HDI (Desktop Support Technician or Support Center Analyst)
  • A+ CompTIA
  • MCP/MCDST (Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician)
  • ITIL v3/4
