Title: Data Management Consultant

Duration: 6 Month Contract

Job Description: 

Building a Data Management Center of Excellence within the Enterprise Data and Analytics (eDNA) department. eDNA’s vision is to leverage data as an enterprise asset to enable customer-centricity and empower our businesses to drive strategic growth. The Data Management Consultant roles is responsible for implementing data management capabilities with respect to people and process as the team drives to achieve our vision. This position will collaborate with internal teams, enterprise privacy and security teams, and business area data domain contacts. A successful candidate will have a bias for action, collaborative nature, focus on risk management, passion for data, and possess a continuous improvement and agile mindset.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

• Drive implementation of data management capabilities in enterprise data projects incorporating the following functions: privacy and security, data quality, standardization, storage and archival, access and retrieval, metadata management, data audit, etc.

• Lead implementation and adoption of the enterprise data catalog solution including partnering with data stewards and custodians to develop business glossaries, profiling, scanning, and curating enterprise data.

• Develop, implement, and drive awareness of data management procedures, templates, principles, standards, and practices.

• Gather information to develop metrics and reporting to demonstrate how data management capabilities are incorporated in overall implementation of the enterprise data vision and roadmaps.

• Network and collaborate with business owners, technical resources, and privacy, security, and risk teams to understand requirements and support implementation of enterprise data that aligns with policies and ensures compliance.

• Support leader in the development and ongoing maturity of the data management center of excellence, data management program functions, data governance activities, and other duties as assigned, including providing recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience implementing data management and/or data governance functions in financial services, insurance, or similar industry.

• Strong knowledge and implementation experience around data management, data governance, data privacy management, data retention management, test data management, and data quality.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, to partner with others and explain processes and results to people at all levels (from executive leadership to individual performers) technical and non-technical.

• Strong work ethic and commitment to bringing projects and issues to closure, driving for results and continuous progress.

• Resilient and agile mindset with the ability to manage change as we build a new team and evolve over time.

• Strong knowledge of data governance framework, industry standards, best practices, and related tools (i.e., Informatica Axon and EDC).

• Effective prioritization, including the ability to balance accuracy and timelines within the bigger picture.

• Strong organization, attention to detail, and project management skills to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of financial services and insurance industries.

• Knowledge of data privacy laws (e.g., GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, CPRA)

• Knowledge of data impact to financial audit regulations like GAAP, IFRS, LDTI

• Experience in AWS cloud services or equivalent and knowledge of cloud computing and tools.
