Job Description:
IBM I Security and certified security engineer.
Measuring system performance using iDoctor
Manage DB2 database performance via SQE Plan Cache, CQE SQL packages
Managing ODBC/JDBC connectivity for external users and applications
IBM i Power Systems platform with a focus on high availability of internal and external applications
Build and Configure IBM System I Power system machines including Virtual I/O LPARs (VIOS), Power 8, 9 or 10
Power HA replication
Managing IBM storage arrays (System Storage DS8870,DS8886, DS8888, DS8950, Storwize, Flash Systems) including managing volumes
Extensive disaster recovery test/configuration experience
Data Domain
Minimum OS level experience IBM I 7.3
This position will serve as an engineer in IBM infrastructure, database, operating systems, IBM SAN
based technologies and apply knowledge to the enterprise. This role will collaborate with architects,
developers, and engineers to develop overall solutions, including options analysis and trade-offs that
properly balance both IT and business constraints. The Systems Engineer will serve as a thought leader
to guide people, processes, and technology.
Daily Responsibilities:
• Represent broad expertise in domain team in technical design and estimating sessions with internal and external IT customers
• Analyze and recommend changes to improve efficiency, lower costs, and enhance quality of business applications
• Establish processes for security and DR processes.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (years of experience in field)/ Resume “must haves”:
• 5+ years of senior level experience with IBM i, iSeries, or AS/400
• Experience working in healthcare, PBM, specialty pharmacy, or health care consulting in a related capacity.
Technologies:
• Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system, database (DB2) and related products
• Strong knowledge of IBM security and DR processes
• Strong knowledge of multiple LPAR and servers maintenance and patch process
• Understanding of logical and disk based (IBM DS8) replication technologies
• Working knowledge of BRMS, PTFs, MIMIX, and other third party tools like PowerTech
Soft Skills Needed:
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to communicate complex information in an organized and concise manner
• Previous leadership responsibility or experience
• Ability to see the bigger picture and understand the engineering and/or development process from ideation through execution
Best vs Average:
• Expert knowledge in analysis, design and troubleshooting of system and application performance
Minimum Physical Job Requirements
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call, and shifts outside of core business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
