The Associate Director, Technology Project Management is responsible for developing and leading the strategy and tactical oversight for technology project management activities (people, processes, and tools) to ensure initiatives are prioritized, sequenced, and governed appropriately throughout life cycles. This position collaborates with leadership across the organization to deliver projects on time, within budget, and within the scope of the strategic objectives outlined by the Board of Directors.  Manages a team of technical project managers and manages a smaller portfolio of projects.


  • Technology Project Management Strategy
  • Develop and lead the technology project management strategy including policies, procedures, and methodologies. Identify and implement best practices and innovations that lead to improved efficiency and alignment across all organizational technology projects
  • Monitor effectiveness and analyze key performance measures to continuously improve performance and technology methodology and tools
  • Ensure that the productivity and actions of the department support the overall operational goals
  • Develop and adhere to departmental staffing and expense budgets. Respond to changes in the business that may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals
  • Initiate and govern the delivery of IT-related initiatives through optimizing the management of resources, work plans, milestones, risk, expectations, budgets, and quality to meet the objectives of the business
  • Establish and drive accountability to project management principles, methods, and techniques (e.g., agile methodologies). Leverage technology, such as Workfront, to provide a standardized, consistent, and organized platform to aid in effective planning, managing, and forecasting of projects.
  • Develop performance and analysis reports and inform IT management and other stakeholders through written and verbal communication methods

Project Management   

  • Define, develop, and approve technical project timelines and delivery schedules
  • Collaborate with organizational stakeholders to implement standardized project management processes and tools
  • Maintain comprehensive project-related documentation, including estimates, timelines, and post-project reviews
  • Leverage technical knowledge to convey business, system, and functional requirements to staff
  • Develop and monitor project success criteria, communicating with stakeholders at key intervals


  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and levels
  • Use internal networks to break down barriers and facilitate work activities where necessary
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of industry best practices in successful project methodology and delivery
  • Team Leadership
  • Provide direct employee supervision which includes the selection, training, performance management, compensation administration, and termination of employees
  • Supervise additional application administration teams



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, project management, or related field is required
  • Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Project Management Professional certification is preferred


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading complex projects across multiple technical and business teams, including internal and external resources are required
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience related to technical project management is required
  • Experience working with project management tools (such as Microsoft Project or Workfront) is required
  • Experience with analytics tools and programs, preferably Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager is preferred

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the project management lifecycle, including agile methodologies, is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of resource planning, scope management, budgeting, risk, and issue management, and communication to project stakeholders is required
  • The ability to mentor and lead technical teams, as well as collaborate with other leaders from other technical and business teams to drive organizational objectives and project work is required
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously are required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with limited supervision is required
  • Strong diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down both business and technology teams are preferred
